Programme n° 2: S'argiola Sos Concales ( ring )
Departure from Fonni in off-road vehicles to reach S`Argiola, point from which we start the trekking through the pathways and the old cart roads used by local shepherds to bring the products from the sheepfolds to town up to 1970s. The entire rout presents different species of vegetation of the Gennargentu Mountain, such as secular downy oaks and holm oaks forests, shrubs and some typical plant of the Mediterranean maquis, the peonies perfume will accompany us through the entire day. En route, with some luck, you might see the King of Gennargentu (the Mouflon) or even its Queen (The Golden Eagle). During the trekking, we’ll cross some small streams; these give life to the Lake Flumendosa. Once we reach destination we’ll stop for lunch at a typical sheepfold, Back in Fonni soon after lunch.
