Programme n°5. Supramonte Orgosolo: “Nuraghe Mereu” “Su Disterru” (off-road vehicle tour and trekking)
Departure from Fonni to Orgosolo in 4x4 vehicles to visit one of the wildest and most extraordinary areas of central Sardinia: the “Mountain of Orgosolo”.
We’ll travel through wild tracks and small roads, admiring this complex karsic area under the sign of the most genuine adventure; we’ll visit the many particular natural monuments that the area has to offer andyou will can enjoy the spectacular natural scenery with woods of Mediterranean Mediterranean maquis, endemic flowers and plants and the presence of numerous animals like the Royal Eagle and the mouflon. The excursion will be carried out on a foot, visiting the Nuraghe “Mereu”, the chasm “Su Disterru”; and the holm oak “S’heliè Toreddu”, then we’ll visit “sos Pinettos” (old shepherds’ shelters) and, after another short stroll, we shall visit the summit of the limestone tower: Mount Novo San Giovanni, where you can admire a view at 360° on the Supramonte of Orgosolo.
